Boston Scientific Europe Accolade product launchOur client Boston Scientific asked us to think strategically about a new product they were bringing to market and to work closely with them on a product launch concept to be used across print and digital communications in Europe. The concept was MRI Unlimited*.

This animation is the latest in the campaign of communications, designed by Gosling, to be released. Localised versions of the education and product awareness animation will follow for the French, Italian, German and Spanish markets, as well as a more technical animation, designed to reach the target audience of specialist cardiologists, electrophysiologists and radiologists.

MRI compatibility has benefits for radiologists and patients in terms of future MRI scans for patients fitted with pacemakers. Boston Scientific had the technical advantage of being the first to market with an MR conditional pacemaker that was compatible with both 1.5T and 3T (Tesla) scanners.

Working for the European Cardio Rhythm Management team at Boston Scientific we initially designed concepts for a printed product brochure to launch the ACCOLADE range of products, as well as a more technical animation, designed to reach the target audience of specialist cardiologists, electrophysiologists and radiologists.

Our client Boston Scientific asked us to design and develop a customisable HTML email template and a one minute animation for self-distribution by the European staff during the festive season. The simple but editable HTML email template provided the Boston Scientific team the flexibility to modify the HTML email copy by adding a personal message before sending on the content to clients, friends and family. A 3D pop-up approach was selected at the storyboard stage. It enabled a ‘physical’ journey across European teams and landmarks without the need for a map or flight-line approach. The look and feel brought unity to the message ‘Everywhere in Europe’ and allowed for a nod to Christmas without overt use of colour or icons.

Boston Scientific Europe Spinal Chord Stimulation MRI animation

This education and awareness animation was designed to work across the health practitioner, patient and carer audiences. The 2 minute animation needed to help communicate and in particular ‘demystify’ some of the information available about the compatibility of medical implants and MRI scanning. Our role in designing the animation for our client Boston Scientific took the idea from creative concept, to storyboarding to production.

Animation is a popular and effective way of presenting messages in an accessible and un-intimidating way to wide audiences. The power of short clips is that they can easily be watched by individuals to gain a first step understanding of complex topics, and can also easily be shared with patients by healthcare professionals and carers via familiar channels such as YouTube.
