Boston Scientific compete in the medical devices sector, a fast moving innovative market place. This education and awareness animation was designed to work across the health practitioner, patient and carer audiences and as a result made for a challenging and rewarding design project .
The 2 minute animation needed to successfully help communicate and in particular ‘demystify’ some of the information available about the compatibility of medical implants and MRI scanning. Our role in designing the animation for our client Boston Scientific involved researching common misconceptions to help inform the strategy, developing the creative concept, right through storyboarding and final production.
Animation was selected for this specific communication as it is a popular and effective way of presenting messages in an accessible and un-intimidating way to a wide range of audiences. In the medical context short clips can easily be watched by individuals to gain a first step understanding of complex topics, and can also easily be shared with patients by healthcare professionals and carers via familiar channels such as YouTube. Harnessing the power of social media enabled our client to maximise the reach of their message to wider audiences.
