It’s a new year, so we’re celebrating new talent. We’ve picked our top emerging designers and illustrators to look out for in 2016, so keep your eyes peeled for their brilliant work throughout the year.

Esme Lonsdale

Esme Lonsdale has already amassed an impressive client list since graduating from Falmouth University in 2014. She’s currently working as a freelance designer for ASK Italian.

We love her food illustration and we’re looking forward to seeing more geometric food patterns from this talented young designer throughout the year.

There’s a real retro feel to Esme’s work and we can really see her style working well with infographics, something we too hope to work on more throughout 2016.

Pádhraic MullhollandNew cycling branding design!

Pádhraic is a Northern Irish illustrator with a clear love of the outdoors. The mixed media style within his work creates a real atmosphere that suits the sweeping, rural landscapes depicted in his illustrations. It’s this combination of materials that we really love. We always like to see the influences of textural printmaking in an illustrator’s portfolio.

We can really see Pádhraic taking on some Irish folk tales in 2016. Publishers, take note!

Ryan Panchal

Ryan has already impressed the big guys over at D&AD with his typographically strong entry, ‘teacHER.’ The campaign aims to educate girls all over the world by uniting girls and young women through the use of technology. Girls are connected with teacHER volunteers in an online ‘classroom’, and are then supplied with the digital technology to create surface patterns and graphics that can be used in the campaign’s branding. We love the purposeful imagination behind this initiative and the idea that strong design can make change.

Charlotte Perry

Since graduating, Charlotte‘s work has been clearly influenced by minimal 1960s design, which is an era of design that we just can’t get enough of. We strongly recommend you check out Charlotte’s Instagram to see her amazing pattern designs and her #365DaysOfType project. She clearly has a natural flare for hand-rendered typography. We can’t wait to see her portfolio grow and develop in 2016.
